QA Supervisor
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Supervisor to oversee all aspects of quality control within our footwear production, including managing a team of quality auditors. The ideal candidate will be a local from Vietnam with strong English proficiency and a keen eye for detail, Mandarin speakers having an advantage. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality standards are met across all stages of production, from raw materials to finished goods, including Tier 1 factories and Tier 2 bottom components, and conducting audits of production tooling. You’ll enforce process control for consistent quality and implement quality standards upstream of our production process to prevent defective product being built. Reporting directly to the Senior Manufacturing/Operations Manager you will be based in South Vietnam.
Responsibilities
- Organise and lead a team of Quality, assigning daily workloads, expectations and appraising their performance.
- Maintain high level of discipline within the FitFlop QA Team and suppliers to understand and deliver expectations.
- Effectively allocate and manage the workloads of Quality Assurance (QA) inspectors across various factory locations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between our company and third-party inspection companies, ensuring the successful execution of 100% product inspections for designated markets.
- Train/guide shoe factories and Tier 2 suppliers to understand FitFlop standard fully, exactly, timely and consistently.
- Set up and implement Quality Control Standards for both Tier 1 factories and Tier 2 molded bottom components.
- Ensure the manufacture of FitFlop products is consistent with the correctly signed Platinum seal, fit sample, graded sample.
- Communicate day to day impact issues accurately and in a timely manner to Manufacturing and Operations Manager.
- Attend Pre-Production Trial (PPT) of style and report in detail any discrepancy from Platinum Sample or production difficulty experienced by the factory, which may have impact on quality and delivery.
- Attend Initial Production Trial (IPT) and enforce proper execution of corrective action from Pre-Production Meeting.
- Attend Graded Sizes Trial to ensure all grades are correct and fitting is as the confirmed Fit Approved Sample
- Ensure factory exercises mold prevention measures throughout the production facility.
- Ensure B-grade product in isolated warehouse, Stamped and segregated to prevent from mixing with A-grade product.
- Randomly conduct inline/final audit at factories to make sure inspection standards are aligned between FitFlop QA’s and standards established.
- In case, FitFlop QAs have any rejection, review, sign off all materials have been checked against the FitFlop swatch cards before cutting/assembling.
- Ensure correct Platinum seal sample in place and has been seen by the factory’s QC Teams, before production begins.
- Support managing factories and vendors to ensure monthly and quarterly shipping targets are met
- Review defective product claim from global market, analyze root cause and decide accountability, communicate action plan to supplier and customer service team based on return policy terms.
- Coordinate defective products to be returned to supplier, set up rework and inspection plan to ensure product conformity.
- Review all materials and components received into the factory, set up min. standard when it is in need.
- Report weekly/monthly quality report, analysis for both factories and suppliers timely.
- Manage and maintain the line of communication between the Commercialize Team and FitFlop QAs, ensuring feedback and actions can flow quickly and seamlessly.
- To ensure all materials are tested to the appropriate Test Requirement and that any materials or components that fail, are not used in any FitFlop production.
- Maintain the integrity of the FitFlop Intellectual property and ensure Densities confirm to the FitFlop specification.
- Manage the quality and condition of all production bottom tooling, ensuring their regular maintenance for optimal performance and consistent production.
- Collaborate with Tier 2 suppliers to create PFC and SOP for each of our sole technologies.
- Evaluate process control/assess risk for potential compound contamination and defective components with Tier 2 supplier.
- Provide support and absence cover for FitFlop QA Team where/when necessary.
- Assist in lowering exceptional and additional costs wherever possible.
The Person:
- Sound understanding of all footwear constructions and production methods
- A good understanding of general merchandise ordering processes and factory operations
- A good understanding of warehouse receiving operations and processes
- A sound knowledge of freight / logistics movements and terms of purchase
- Minimum 5 years footwear related experience in shoe making and quality control.
- Excellent understanding of Footwear Testing and how to read Test Reports.
- English skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) is a must
- Mandarin spoken is a plus
- Excellent skills on Microsoft programs, particularly Excel
- Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive skills
- A proactive and “can do” attitude

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in other footwear areas, such as, commercialization, tooling, lab testing, corporate responsibility is a plus
