We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Retoucher to join our Photography Team, on a 6 month fixed-term basis, working in the dynamic and creative environment of our in-house photography studio and creative dept. The role will execute high quality retouching across product photography – adhering to the FitFlop Photographic Style Guide.
You will gain invaluable exposure to FitFlop Photography activity and be part of a busy and passionate team.
The Responsibilities:
- Oversees, develops, and maintains retouching workflow. Maintains organised file structures, correct file naming, image protocols and overall quality control standards.
- Able to work on one or more concurrent projects.
- Ensures deadlines are met.
- Working alongside the Retouch Manager, Photography Producer and Assistant Producer to ensure imagery is matched to correct sample and manage image sign off process.
- Keeping up to date with any changes to samples and taking an active interest in the knock-on effect of changes to materials, branding, name and colour.
- Working alongside the Photography Producer and Assistant Producer to ensure all files are named and saved correctly.
- Ensure all imagery is consistently retouched to the highest possible quality, meeting brand standards and guaranteeing products are accurately colour corrected and looking their best. Accuracy and consistency are key.
- Proactively communicates status of projects and workload. Working alongside Retouch Manager, Photography Producer and Assistant Producer to ensure all retouching is delivered to CPA, communicating status and all expectations managed.
- Be a proficient Mac user with a developed knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CC, Wacom tablet and good working knowledge of working with RAW files. Knowledge of video editing software( After Effects, Premiere Pro) will be a bonus, but not essential.
- Strong understanding of colour correction techniques, image composition and skin retouching.
- Creating GIFS, producing motion edits in agreed timescales - the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Working on your own whilst showing excellent skills to follow editing work plans/instructions.
- Communicate and provide regular feedback to the photographers, Photography Producer, and freelancers retouchers.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from Retouch Manager and the creative department to extend lifestyle images, requesting images and crops and video editing.
- Able to respond to ad hoc art working requests during busy periods in the studio.
The Person:
- Comfortable and accomplished working with both e-commerce, stylised photography, and campaign images.
- Ability to raise the creative bar through accurate and consistent imagery.
- Confident and calm with a tendency to approach all situations with a positive outlook.
- Establish excellent working interdepartmental relationships through their thorough understanding of the product and ability to respond to feedback.
- Ability to bring innovation to high-volume photographic workflows, reducing the sign off process while improving the quality of imagery produced.
- Unafraid of hard work.
- Manage multiple edits and projects at the same time.
- Keep up to date and understand the latest Adobe Photoshop software updates.
- Able to work independently.
- Sense of humour (of course!)
