We have an exciting opportunity for a hard-working, organized, and self-motivated Footwear Fit Technician to join our APAC Product Team, based from our office in Dongguan.

The Responsibilities:

• Manage the fitting process from prototyping to final fit approval and platinum sign off
• Collaborate with Commercialization and Production teams to make sure shoes in production match the confirmation sample to ensure consistency fit
• Recognize fit problems, analyze the problems, and execute fit corrections until the fit samples get approved
• Work with Design, R&D, and Product Development teams regarding fit and pattern adjustments, clearly communicating any fit issues
• Function as a technical contact to the UK and Asia Product Development teams to make early recommendations on construction, techniques, and solutions
• Participate in Range Reviews
• Bring strong knowledge of lasts, patterns, materials, molds, construction, comfort, and fit
• Manage fit report through the whole product development process from prototype to final fit, including digital photos to explain the fit corrections and construction details
• Track and manage fit schedules and cross functional partners to ensure scheduling and prioritizing of fittings are aligned with the product calendar and business deliverables
• Collaborate with business partners to understand design aesthetics, brand fit, comfort, and construction standards, and provide consistent professional feedback
• Clearly communicate any fit issues with all suppliers
• Other ad-hoc duties as required
  

The Person:

• Batchelors degree in Engineering or a similar subject is beneficial, but not essential
• Ideally you’ll have experience working within fashion and performance global footwear brands and/or manufacturing
• Excellent knowledge of footwear development and production processes
• In depth knowledge of fit requirement
• Familiar with materials used in footwear
• Knowledge of machinery used in the manufacturing of footwear and the expected results from using them
• In depth knowledge of fit requirements
• Highly organized and reliable, efficient, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast paced working environment
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced collaborative global team
• Strong problem solving abilities, to think creatively and anticipate/resolve potential issues quickly
• Excellent PC skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other program tools
• Ability to work cross functionally and build productive business relationships within and outside the company
• Strong written and oral English skills
• Complete understanding of the footwear creative process and lead times
• Strong pattern making background with fit skills
• Highly effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and proven organizational/time management skills
• Maintain a positive ‘can do’ attitude while demonstrating passion and drive to create exceptional footwear
• Fluent English written and oral language skills
• Vietnamese language skills are a benefit
• Happy to travel internally when required
